BUY A PRIVATE ISLAND IN BAHAMAS

Recent visit to a motorcycle company, and raid by Income Tax raised a number of eyebrows and speculation that The raids were a consequence of funding of a political party.

But reason is very prosaic. The company showed fictitious expenses of over 1000 crores.

But more worrisome is that the honcho is rumoured to have a bought a small island in the West Indies/ Bahamas / Bermuda Areas and a posh resort is being readied for sun soaked rendezvous of and for the party set.

Coincidentally, the World Challenge Golf, the season ending Golf tournament hosted by Tiger Woods and sponsored by the MC Company happens at Bahamas every year. Tiger Woods is also a brand ambassador for the company and is paid, per sources, over 5 million Dollars every year. The company also brought Tiger to Delhi and he played a few holes at DGC.

The so-called expenses were cashed out and exchanged for foreign currencies or packed in suitcases and carried out on the personal plane. Income tax have found over 200 trips in past 2 Covid Years.

The immediate cause of the search was a routine check of one of the bags by Income tax wing posted at Delhi airport.

Over 90 lakhs in Indian currency were found.

Cleverly the baggage tags were replaced and the poor assistant was shown as the owner.

Poor chap, apparently broke down and revealed that the Currency outflow had been going for past 2-3 years to pay for the island and the resort.

Bahamas and Bermudas were one of the first tax havens and another Industrial group in shipping / oil refinery /telecom and steel owed their funding from there.

Also, a middling Industrialist married to a film actress also emerged from the same islands.

Now the sad part. According to gossip, involvement of CISF / Customs and Immigration etc are being talked off. The switching of the baggage tags after currencies were found are being attributed to a very senior customs officer.

The case is now headed towards CBI, but high ups in government are more worried about security nightmare such escapades cause.

If an Industrialist can do it, So can a terror organisation.
